Reminds me of the one time I was in a similar situation. A person comes up to me to ask for my opinion on her comic she wants published in our newspaper. I could have drawn it better using my non-dominant hand. It was absolute shit. I’m not kidding with how bad it was. I wanted to rip it up and stomp on it. Your comic pretty much sums up what I wanted to do to it.

But I didn’t do that.

After a few minutes of analyzing it I calmly told her that she needed to work a bit on her composition and not to squish all the text into the corner of the panel. Maybe add some color. Then I even gave her a set of my old micron pens so she didn’t have to use her half-dead ball-point pen.

I told her that as it is now we couldn’t use it but if she listened to me and improved then maybe we could get it in. I felt good about giving a few pointers to someone who seemed to want to improve.

Two weeks later I overhear her talking to her anime club about how much of a judging dick-head I was to her comic. Then they all shared their shitty sonic fan art with each other. The end.
